I'm Scottie Henderson. Realtor, Dad, Partner. Every day is an opportunity to create a smile and help others.
Born and raised in Waterloo Region. Realtor with eXp Realty. Over 200 homes. Over $100 million sold. The bright colours, the music and the unicorn are all very much me.
I was the kid who ate lunch in the bathroom because crowds terrified me. Then I spent twenty years building events and learning how attention works. My wife Michelle challenged me to show people the real version of me. The bright clothes, music, awkward humour and full-volume care were already there. Real estate just became the place I finally stopped hiding them.
Joy is not the opposite of serious work. It's how I choose to do serious work.

Getting a home noticed is the job. Along the way, the media started asking about how I do it. Here's The Record's article, the CBC feature and my conversations on 570 News. The stories, the questions and the human behind the pink suit.

That headline is doing a lot of heavy lifting. The story underneath it? That's the part I want you to read.
Joel Rubinoff wrote about my listing videos, the work behind them and why I put so much energy into getting a home noticed. The article also hears from a seller about the home behind the video.
And yes, that's my son Major in the photo. Family first, even in the newspaper.

My longer 570 News conversation with Brock Greenhalgh about real estate, marketing, attention, the unicorn and what maximum effort is supposed to feel like for a client.
The longer Mike Farwell conversation. More about my background, the thinking behind the marketing and what that work means for the people selling their homes.
The longer CBC segment - more context, more of the story and considerably less room for a tidy sound bite.
FAMILY FIRST. THAT'S THE ORDER.
A home is where your day happens.
Being a partner and a dad matters deeply to me. It's also why I take the human side of a move seriously. A home is where your people gather and where a lot of your life gets built. The plan needs to work for the people in it.
Before real estate, I spent twenty years in event and product marketing, including serving as Director of Marketing for KW Oktoberfest. I learned to think about what gets someone's attention, what keeps it and what makes an idea worth sharing. That's the thinking I bring to your listing.
01
Show up.
Answer the phone. Attend the hard conversations. Stay responsible after the exciting part.
02
Tell the truth.
About the price, the house, the market and whether I am actually the right fit.
03
Make joy.
A move can be stressful without the entire experience feeling grey and transactional.
